The Blewit (Clitocybe nuda) mushroom, or Hongo de pie azul in Spanish, will appear with shades of lavender and lilac when young and fresh. As they grow older, the colors fade to a brownish hue making this color transformation one of its distinguishing features. It has a tendency to grow in piles of organic debris where it feeds on the nutrients provided by colonies of soil bacteria.
