Visit Anza-Borrego Desert State Park for your next desert adventure. It is the largest state park in California comprised of more than 500 miles of dirt roads, 12 wilderness areas, and countless miles of hiking trails for people of all ages and abilities. Here you’ll encounter abandoned gold mines and the Teddy-bear Cholla. Don’t be fooled by its name, this snuggly-looking cactus is anything but cuddly.

Located in eastern San Diego County and extending into Imperial and Riverside Counties, this park is easily accessible from many directions. The Mine Canyon trail is only 84 miles from the San Diego Natural History Museum. Join the Museum’s Canyoneers for guided hikes at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
